Please take time to read through this policy carefully as it is can affect your gaming experience using DMW Software.
A Global Ban means Players will be banned from all games DMW Support in the future
Please read this carefully:
What is a cheater?
We assume everyone knows what a cheater is, but from our point of view they are the plague of on line gaming.
A cheater is an individual who makes the game easier, taking out the challenge, for their own benefit. The
repercussions of this are pretty high, honest/serious players end up leaving the game out of frustration as
a result of these mindless players reaping the rewards and move on to other games.
We have seen it many times in the past, games flourishing in popularity, and then steadily declining down the
pecking order for no apparent reason. We believe this is a result of honest players leaving the game due to the
increasing amount of corrupt players (cheaters). We are taking appropriate action to counter these effects, which
in the long run will keep everyone happy, games will have a longer shelf life and the integrity of the games
should last forever.
DMW Prohibition Policy regarding Use of our Software.
It is the policy of Developing Multiplayer Worlds (DMW) to promote a cheat free gaming environment for all players
who opt to play their game online using DMW Software. As part of this policy, it is necessary to prohibit certain
users from being able to participate in these games if they try to alter their game with a purpose of gaining an
advantage (Cheat).
The policy covers the following:
- Users attempting to share or play under the guise of another players client account (with or without the other players permission).
- Users who attempt to bypass DMW software or who attempt to alter its functionality in any way.
- Abusive behaviour towards any member of DMW staff or DMW as a company will not be tolerated and may result in your client/scanner account being suspended.
- Clan leaders and members that harbour cheaters in their clan when playing in competitive matches.
- Attempting to reverse-engineer the DMW software, for any reason without first prior written permission from DMW.
- Faking screenshots, altering logs or any action to attempt to falsely incriminate players in the aim of getting them banned.
- Users failing to supply files they are caught with, to validate authenticity.
- Nulling, masking or overwriting of files to bypass/redirect current
game resources such as sounds, textures or models will now result in a
ban. (This is all modifications commited outside the pk3 files).
- Clans playing matches in competitions / ladders or leagues must have at
least one clan with a scanner licence or server + scanner from a GSP
partner. Clans that are avoiding the DMW licence by using a server owned
by another clan or person that is not involved in the match is
prohibited and breaches the DMW EULA.
All matches on leagues
and ladders such as clanbase are now automatically monitored, and any
matches played that breach these rules will have both parties lose their
DMW Client accounts, avoiding the DMW licence is not exceptable and if
you want to use DMW you must purchase a licence.
Clans scanning
other matches that contain 2 other teams other than themselves will gain
a warning followed by losing there scanner account as this breaches
your EULA when purchasing the scanner.
- Users creating many
accounts for any reason, will be permanently banned from DMW.
- Leagues that use DMW for commercial usages, such as scanning a
league/match server where clans in that league may use the server and be
scanned will be in breach of the DMW EULA and will face legal action
for loses and damages.
- Clans must make sure there DMW Clan
profile is upto date, failure to keep your members on your profile will
cause your members to be flagged as freelancers and excluded from your
clan on checking which can cause a breach of Rule 2. Users must be
registered in the clan they are playing for.
The DMW banning policy is subject to changes, and also constitutes part of the EULA and by using the DMW software you are agreeing to both the DMW EULA and to following the DMW Banning Policy.
